Mission statement

The applied mathematics group has been founded in 2012, when Markus Haltmeier has been appointed as a full Professor at the department of Mathematics of the University of Innsbruck. The goal of the group is the development of innovative statistical and mathematical methods for applied sciences including inverse problems, computed tomography, signal and image processing and data science in general. We thereby focus on the practical relevance or our methods as well as on rigorous mathematical foundation. Current research includes the following:

  • February  27, 2017
    The 4th installment of the  workshop "Donau-Isar-Inn" (WDI²) will take place on March 10th 2017 at the University of Innsbruck - Campus Technik.
